Forum: GratefulDead Subject: Is there a website for JGB auds/sbds?

I was looking at my collection and suddenly realized that while I have about 10 JGB show recordings that I really enjoy, I cannot recall how I got them.

Is there an Archive.org page for those, or is Etree the only source, or do you have to cage-fight Donna Koons to get to them?

Various torrent sites are where I got mine.
If you just want to listen (stream), there are alot on sugarmegs and some on panic stream.

From the panicstream site, I downloaded a few, but can't for the life of me figure out how I did it now.

Yeah, if you're not into bittorrent stuff, the jerryradio site is good for MP3's. We used to have speedingarrow, but they went belly up sometime ago. There is also the generosity of those around here, many of who may be willing to assist you with gathering some material.

I have a hard time at that site. I wander in circles. Things I click seem to link back to other things I already clicked. (It's probably me.) Is there actually a lot of music there somewhere?

The Jerry Site is more of a DeadBase for JGB than it is a place for music. Great place to browse for info on all things Jerry solo.

ok that's what I thought. educational but maybe not the first stop when you've got to listen to Jerry RIGHT NOW.

Another option is sugarmegs:

http://tela.sugarmegs.org/alpha/j.html

(listed under jgb).

You can stream or download any of these shows and they have hundreds. The major downsides are that the shows are all encoded as fairly low bit rate wma files and also all the shows are in one long track, rather than broken up into songs. However, if you just want to hear the music its great and also a great way to preview a show before you invest the time and hard drive space in downloading the torrent.

Bookmarked! Thanks. Sometimes it's nice to be forced to listen to the show from beginning to end--more organic.
